Armando Lopez, LMFT, has been providing mental health services throughout the Bay Area for over 10 years. Since 2018, his practice has focused on providing treatment to adults and children of all ages who are living with trauma due to sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, emotional abuse, and substance abuse. Mr. Lopez is certified in Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) and highly values collaborating with parents. In addition to working with survivors of trauma, Mr. Lopez also treats adolescents and developmentally disabledadults who have committed sexual offenses.
Prior to joining A Step Forward, Mr. Lopez provided suicide prevention services for Alameda County and individual & family therapy to families working towards reunification or adoption. His experience as a psychotherapist includes treating patients who are living with post-traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Mr. Lopez has provided therapeutic services to families from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. He is a bilingual/bicultural therapist who providesservices in English and Spanish. Mr. Lopez earned his master’s degree in counseling psychology from the Wright Institute in 2012 and is a licensed marriage & family therapist.
