Stephanie Young, PhD (PSY 32569), is a licensed clinical psychologist. Her earliest experiences in the field of mental health were with foster youth in residential treatment. This work formed a passionate foundation which cemented her commitment to people who are overlooked by society—including those involved in the criminal justice system. As a clinical and forensic psychologist, she has conducted individual and group therapy with men and women both during and following incarceration; and she has conducted court-ordered mental health evaluations for adolescents charged with delinquent behaviors. She also worked at STRIVE, a program for teens who sexually offend. At Strive she provided individual and group therapy, recidivism risk assessments, and family reunification therapy post-offense. Dr. Young is also experienced and passionate about neuropsychological and psychological assessment. She supervises predoctoral interns in neuropsychological assessment at Access Institute in San Francisco and serves on their Board of Directors. She is currently a member of the private provider network (PPN) in San Francisco County, where she conducts juvenile delinquency and dependency evaluations for the court. Dr. Young graduated from Palo Alto University after completing original research on adolescent substance abuse and negative sexual experiences in 2019.
